Talking about strong floors reminded me to do my pelvic floor exercises, & *that* reminded me of the Cardassian Union:

The Turkey Trot was done to fast ragtime music popular in the decade from 1900 to 1910 such as Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag.[2] Driven largely by youth counterculture of the time, the turkey trot fad quickly fell out of favor as the foxtrot, a much more conservative dance step based on the waltz, rose to popularity in 1914. The basic step consisted of four hopping steps sideways with the feet well apart, first on one leg, then the other with a characteristic rise on the ball of the foot, followed by a drop upon the heel. The dance was embellished with scissor-like flicks of the feet and fast trotting actions with abrupt stops.

On Wayfair looking for cheap trash cans & if I were a suspect on "Poirot" or a socialite in a screwball comedy I would absolutely own this lamp:

Felt completely terrified at finding part of a cigarette lighter by the compost heap but I looked up the design & it dates to the 1980s so it's ancient trash from someone else rather than someone recently standing in our yard with incendiary materials.

It's the bottom bit of this one:

I don't want to bug the person here so I'm screenshotting (also I don't think I *am* autistic so it's not what they were discussing) but: social stuff was always something I had to learn from the ground up; it didn't come naturally, I had to put a lot of work & attention & thought into it-
I think about other people so much: their motivations, fears, how they want to be perceived, how to tell when they're upset or approach them with a problem. I make a lot of effort because I thought all that came naturally to allistics. to my horror I found most don't think about that stuff at all!

Mercy Otis Warren is, like, too late, I've already depicted you as the greedy tyrant Rapatio & my brother as the heroic, tyrant-defeating Brutus.

Directed against Governor Thomas Hutchinson of Massachusetts, The Adulateur foretold the War of Revolution. It was published as a part of a longer play by an unknown author without Warren's consent in 1773. One of the main characters in Warren's part of the play is "Rapatio", who represented Hutchinson. Because Warren was a Whig and Hutchinson was a Tory, Warren disagreed with Hutchinson's views. Therefore, Rapatio is the antagonist in The Adulateur. The protagonist is "Brutus", whom Warren created to represent her brother, James Otis. In the play, the characters who are Whigs are brave, independent people, while the characters who are Tories are selfish and rude. The play includes a happy ending for the Whigs. After the play was published, Hutchinson become known as Rapatio to citizens of Massachusetts who identified with the Whigs. Because her first play was so successful and she thoroughly enjoyed writing about politics, Warren did not stop there.

Anyway, a lot of people have to drive or go back to work or are on medication & selling beer by the half pint would enable them to participate in the happy buzz (as bootleg Poe Dameron would say) without making them get sick or break the law or put anyone in danger.
