If you're in the Senate in 2027 will you support Schumer continuing as "leader"? Man couldn't whip votes if he were using a Kitchenaid and the senators were cream.

Thank you - I love it when candidates come right out and post the answer to a question I have about them. I love it even more when the answer is the one I wanted to see!

Yeah sure, the book will sell better if it's about the guy who won the election instead of the guy who lost. Don't you think a candidate being morally corrupt or a foreign asset or Jovian gasblob in an Edgar suit kind of matters BEFORE an election?

This kind of dirt-banker, collecting damning bits but saving them for the bestselling book, is the worst kind of pseudo-journalist. Wolff, Woodward, Tapper, so many more I can't remember the names. Instead of substantiating info and getting it out to the public WHEN IT MATTERS they sit on it.

Throwing in to the options pool on who "The Duke" is: Prince Andrew was also titled Duke of York at the time. That title was stripped a few years ago.

Any other candidates? I think John Wayne was dead by then, no? If it's obvious this is talking about Prince Andrew, sorry - I'm bad at obvious.

Boring work is good work, but it don't mean a thing without leverage.

We must win. We do not win by surrendering.
November 11, 2025 at 6:13 AM
Nah man. If your fighting strategy is to pull some great cards and then fold then you aren't fighting along with me. We had victories this November. Republicans were squirming. You and the other turncoats let them go. Just like you let Trump go after 2020.

She hasn't held elected office before but she has worked in both local and federal government and in the state party org. State senator is a pretty typical starting point for electoral novices and it's not too exclusive: there's nearly 2000 state senators in the US. No clue if she's worth a vote.

You know, meeting folks in the middle between their position and his. Different from rushing to the middle before anyone else is there and then negotiating yourself all the way over to the other side's position. Chuck.

Maybe Mamdani doesn't what to meet with this guy because he, Mamdani, campaigned on policies that he believes in and none if it was empty rhetoric?

Doesn't mean it will all get implemented. Mamdani does know how to compromise with people who want something else.

Did Ross Douthat ruin the Times?

Note that I'm not meeting an obvious truth with an an obvious truth. I'm meeting a shit columnist with a shit post.

That end over end tumbling gets you good sandwich explosion on contact, but you lose a lot of the momentum. If you want that sandwich to have an impact through the body armor you need it to spiral around the long axis, like a football.

Why do you think people have to listen to you? We don't. You don't get to clutter the feeds of crochet enthusiasts who want to read about crochet just because you have Important Things To Say.

I really want someone familiar with the actual regulations and case law to weigh in on whether what USDA is saying is true.

To me, a layperson who doesn't handle SNAP, it sounds like USDA is misrepresenting the law. If someone isn't paying with SNAP do they count was a SNAP recipient customer?
November 3, 2025 at 11:13 PM
They keep telling people who ran left and won they need to moderate. They keep telling moderates who ran moderate and lost they need to moderate.

Does it seem like they're expressing their desires more than giving considered and honest advice?
November 3, 2025 at 4:35 AM
If nobody is getting SNAP benefits right now then nobody is a SNAP customer and so the prohibited basis for unequal treatment doesn't exist.

I'm not a lawyer and I haven't found the actual regulation yet, but it seems like USDA is being misleading about the unequal treatment rule here.

Goons is goons. To Trump and cronies they're interchangeable head crackers. Dunno how the legal authorities are but I doubt Noem and Bondi care about that.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov Our state police could be out in our communities protecting Illinoisans from fascism. They could make ICE obey our laws and respect our rights. You can tie ICE's hands to keep us safe.

But you've sent them to protect stormtroopers whose hands are free to strangle us.
November 2, 2025 at 5:22 AM
@govpritzker.illinois.gov You talk about fighting back. You talk about holding the line against fascism. But you sic state troopers and prison guards with pellet guns and chemical weapons on the very people doing exactly that: fighting back and holding the line.

Ever since the Contract on America the Democrats have just been responding to whatever garbage the Republicans throw at them and not coming up with anything bold on their own. Usually the response is "we can be even meaner than that".

If only the Business Plot had succeeded we wouldn't have needed the overbearing 22nd amendment to curb Democrats excessive power for limiting human suffering

*The Democrats in the 30s and 40s weren't great either, and I wouldn't trust any president with 4 terms

There is not. Not in any way.

You are enabling a dictator and you know that.
