Our statement regarding the placing of Coach Niko on administrative leave.
10/26/2025 The Northeast Wisconsin Democratic Socialists of America express strong concern regarding the placement of Coach Kominiko "Niko" Sila on administrative leave at Green Bay East High School. Coach Niko has had an immeasurably positive impact on countless students and their families since coming to the Green Bay Area Public School District. None of the publicly known allegations against Coach Niko - who is understood to be an upstanding and loved member of the faculty and the community - adequately justify the punishment currently imposed. We strongly suspect that the punishment and investigation currently underway are influenced by Coach Niko's race, as the Green Bay Area Public School District has consistently demonstrated inequitable treatment of black and brown staff and students. The Northeast Wisconsin Democratic Socialists of America call for full transparency of the ongoing investigation against him, including the public disclosure of all twenty allegations levied. In the meantime, we stand in full support of Coach Niko and all students unjustly impacted by his placement on administrative leave, and hope to see his return to work as soon as possible. Join a leftist organization! We can't take on fascism alone. The above actions are good to do individually, but will only be effective if we rally together as a community to make demands collectively. Antifascist organizations like the Democratic Socialists of America will help you stay connected to the larger movement for a better world and keep you up to date on future actions in your area.

Unionize your workplace! We didn't get the weekend, the minimum wage, the forty-hour work week, child labor laws, and so many more rightswe take for granted today by voting or protesting. We got them through union power! If we stop working, the machine stops running. So talk to your coworkers about the right to organize! If you need any help, feel free to reach out to us and we'll be happy to assist you along the process.

We are pleased to announce that this Saturday October 18th, we have partnered with community members to put on Green Bay's No Kings event. Join thousands of your friends and neighbors at Joannes Park at 3:00 pm for a march to the courthouse!

Northeast Wisconsin DSA will have members in attendance at both the Green Bay and Appleton events. On October 18, we urge everyone able to attend the event nearest to you.

This is an IMMEDIATE call to action for Appleton!

While billions are funneled into cages, cops, and propaganda to prop up a collapsing regime, our schools and children are left behind. We refuse to accept a system that funds walls and wars while classrooms go hungry.
Appleton Area School District. Drop off donations at AASD Welcome Center, 2701 North Oneida Street, Suite C3, Appleton, Wisconsin, 54911. Urgent donation request! We are three weeks into the school year, and we are up to nearly 300 students experiencing homelessness that the district is supporting. Over the past week we have a higher than usual amount of families become completely unsheltered (living in cars, parks, somethings being able to get a hotel room for a night to shower). Some of our typical donations haven't come in yet and we are working together to put food bags to give to these students. Several families will be in on Friday, so hoping to pull some food donations together for these students to have one less worry over the weekend. We will gladly take any donations in this project if anyone is interested in donating. Nonperishable items needed: Granola/breakfast bars, beef sticks, bags of crackers/snacks, trail mix, individual fruit cups or applesauce, individual microwave mac and cheese cups, individual microwave oatmeal, individual microwave soup/spaghetti, etc. Gift cards for Walmart or other local grocery stores to pick up additional items as needed are greatly appreciated.
