"What is..."?

Any other Jeopardy fans here? We leapt out of our seats when we heard @kenjennings.bsky.social read this one!

(these days, Ardnarusha pumps out 40-50GWh each month over the winter -- only a little over 1% of the island's electricity needs but still going strong!)

December 25 is just about the only day when electricity demand in Ireland peaks around lunchtime rather than in the evening 🎄

When else can you expect this behaviour? Easter Sunday. We love our roasts! 🍗

Renewables supplied over half of this year's Christmas Day electricity 🔌

Thanks to the ongoing mess around unit-level data, we can only now confirm a new battery record last Friday, Dec 19: 430MW, or ~7% of demand at the time 🥇

Strong batteries the past few nights too which is good with the current low winds although still well below the ~1GW current total capacity.
