Do we deserve it though? We know that half the nation DIDN'T want this & the other half have been denied resources, spoon-fed propaganda, & whipped into such a frenzy they can't see how their choices hurt their own cause. If we sit back and say "good, you deserve it" all we're left with is more pain

What if it’s not something we must forgive or forget, but ask ourselves why - why’d it happen, how’d it happen, and what can we do to make a world where it doesn’t happen again? Can we be open to answers that may humanize the people who perpetuated the violence if its origin is isolation and fear?

It did. It matters and will keep mattering because we are still in the early days of this historical time. It matters because we need witnesses dedicated to preserving truth and context
