I woke up this morning thinking about productivity, and how laying in bed with my partner and my dog for an extra 20 minutes was not a productive use of my time. But who decided time must be spent productively, anyway? I don’t want to produce, I want to exist.

If you have a nice thought about someone, you should go ahead and share it with them. In my experience people are glad to receive it, and it’s so fun to be the instigator of joy.

Since AI is here to stay, someone should make a chat bot companion for lonely angry men that starts out showering them with love and praise but then subversively teaches them empathy - maybe we could make them think it was their own idea to self reflect and go to therapy.

Sometimes my brain’s choice of words sounds like a character I didn’t know I was playing. I just looked in the mirror to see a hint of chocolate ice cream in the corner of my mouth, and my immediate thought was “wow, no one told me I was rocking choc” I’m sorry what??

Seeing a lot of posts like “algo, show me progressive people who already believe what I believe” and i just don’t think siloing ourselves further is going to help grow those progressive ideals that we say are so important to us. We’ve gotta talk to more people, and then actually listen to them.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
