Canada has a head start on this idea by celebrating Thanksgiving in mid-October. It also means we have seven full weeks of “it’s almost Christmas”. (Your suggestion is great - count me in.)

I grew up in the US and have lived in Canada for almost half of my life, but I still can’t get used to having Thanksgiving happen before Halloween. This photo explains the issue pretty accurately. #Halloweenmas

My reaction to pretty much everything these days. 🤦🏻‍♀️

In 2006 I had the privilege of being the event photographer for a Jane Goodall talk at the University of Toronto. This is one of my fave shots. She was one of the good ones. (Okay, she was the best of the best.) #JaneGoodall

Awww, perfect timing! Yesterday afternoon I met a parent & kiddo out looking lunch. The juvenile bird was sooooo chatty. (“Feed me, feed me, feed me!”)

Oooh, this cutie looks so much like my dearly departed soulmate cat. I’m going to be believe that my guy is now living this life, which he would have absolutely loved. (We were visiting a local church on this excursion. ❤️)

We were so lucky to have him visit Toronto. His Genesis exhibit at the ROM was extraordinary, as was his Magnum Opus exhibit two years ago at the Metivier Gallery.

When I ditched the platform formerly known as Twitter, I missed a few people I followed, including @sarahkendzior.bsky.social, who knew what was coming way back when. She recently shared this essay: thecorrespondent.com/5696/were-he...

Thank you so much for sharing that amazing video & your stories. (No kidding about the air quality.) I grew up not far from Etna & explored it a w/ my camera in Jan. 2021. The cemetery on the hillside was remarkable. (Note the clear sky.)

Hey Ontario voters! If you haven’t already done so, get out there and vote today. If you’re not in the loop, here’s what #DougFord has cost us. #VoteFordOut (Great info, @westendphoenix.bsky.social - we needed fliers of this in every mailbox weeks ago, but thank you!)

Well, it finally stopped snowing, and there’s sunshine and blue sky, so a run to & along the lake seemed like a good idea. (It was. But it was just a *tad* windy. And the snow was too deep for me to get close to the water.) #breatheinbreatheout

🤯 Meanwhile, this was Bloor West across from High Park. (Wasn’t plowed at the end of the day either & is now a complete mess at intersections.) And yet, a determined cyclist forged ahead! #BikeTO

Meanwhile, on Bloor St. West near High Park … (Maybe they just hadn’t gotten to it yet?)

I needed this levity today, and perhaps you do too.

It was a little snowy when i trekked home from dinner with friends. The subway was definitely the way to travel! #Toronto #Snowstorm #TTC

This was my beloved Schnuffs, who passed away a couple years ago thanks a crap situation with the vet. I’m still gutted over the loss, but it’s good to know there’s another version of him out there. He was my best bud. 😊

I bought this fridge magnet sometime after the 2016 election and it brings me much-needed joy every single day.

Lake Ontario, looking south from a Toronto beach. Today’s run was cold and windy, but the icy lake and brief sunshine were worth experiencing. Gotta seek beauty whenever you can. Get outside. Breathe in … breathe out.

Thanks for posting this. When I run along the Toronto lakeshore there are places where I can see the Hamilton industrial sector, and I’ve wondered if the lake adds a bit of a mirage effect. (The site looks big for being so far away.)

Happy Friday. Happy end to the week-that-felt-like-a-full-month. Get outside. Breathe in, breathe out. Do whatever you need to do to decompress. (Just make sure the ice is solid before you do something like this.) #Toronto #BikeTO #biking

That felt really good. #GoodByeX

(I did it immediately after seeing a crazy-ass post for the inmate-in-chief’s crypto coin, which I attempted to report & got an error message. No error when I tested reporting an Obama post though.) Byeeeeeee!

This morning I burned off some pre-US-inauguration-shitshow stress with a long run by the lake. As a bonus, I got to watch some graceful swans eat breakfast. #bottomsup #swanbutts

I feel seen. Here are a few pictures of some extremely cool picnic tables I saw at a rest stop in Hebron, Ohio while on a road trip with my dad. (At least I made him get in one picture.)
