At the micro level there’s a lot of names for hostile architecture or defensive architecture. At the macro level, Haussmann is the best example I know of. Richard Sennett writes about it in Flesh and Stone

I was just offered $250 or 400 in book scrip within 6 weeks. I’m swamped so I said no but if it had been $500 I might have squeezed it in (I need more unread books like I need more dog hair under my bed)
