The fog isn't why the child is dead and SDPD is still investigating. Hopefully they will find video or other evidence. Such collisions should automatically include a search of phone records of the driver.

That the "area was foggy" was a statement of fact as was the information that the child was impacted in the intersection. The U-T description of the child being in the roadway without any reference to the intersection is lazy at best.

The truck should be seized and destroyed and the person driving the truck sentenced to walk everywhere for a year. And the person in the left-turning vehicle should be ticketed as well.

I will vote for more MTS funding versus severe transit cuts. I will not vote for highway expansions that are greenwashed with some watered-down transit.

"But in the latest draft, the Purple Line is light rail and goes only to Mission Valley. Current estimates project the route to have a daily ridership of 20,000. It would be difficult to secure federal or state funding for a route with that projected level of ridership."
