I visited "Shoes on the Danube" last summer and I fear we aren't very far from something so horrific again.

Been following this for a while. A lot of strip mall buildings are basically built as cheap as possible and practically no cost, after you figure in the tax advantages cities give for them. Then torn down in like 30+ years later. I say require these blight shopping centers to include housing

It's like Iraq all over again. Though this time they aren't even lying to us about why.

I saw a video of a queer retirement community in Palm Springs, but I bet it's expensive to live there. Could live there in 11-12 years though (55+)

I'm often like, if I could convince friends to pool resources, I bet we could make a nice space to hang out, but not run like my current HOA hopefully

I've legit talked about doing co-housing with friends towards retirement

Ya and this is at the tail end of a really bad set of GERD flare ups I'm having. Need to remember to eat better, but our latest work schedule has us not being able to eat dinner until 9:30/10pm, and there isn't always much open that late other than really unhealthy fast food.

I just have to fire up Cities Skylines with the plazas and promenades DLC and then can do pedestrian zones everywhere. Why can't it be that easy in real life?

And even the pedestrian zones require some vehicle traffic, but get special access for emergency vehicles and delivery.
