But honestly, that seems fair. He *was* a big part of the show.

Just . . . do a hard reset. The Daniel Craig era had a continuing arc, the other eras didn't, and that's fine.

Jim Clyburn debasing himself for Cuomo should never be forgotten.

Jeff Merkley.

Naturally. Just checking. :)

But was it John Slattery, though?

Jonathan, is it your contention that deep blue places just...don't count, or something?

Cuomo lost the primary and kept going anyway on his own ballot line. When you say Mamdani is not a Democrat, are you purposely glossing over the fact that he currently holds elected office as a Democrat, won a Democratic primary, and then won the election on the Democratic ticket?
November 6, 2025 at 8:41 PM
That's a statement about the Queens Democratic Party, though, not about Mamdani.

You look lovely and appear to be having fun.

Hmm...Maybe you should alert all the Democrats who supported him.

Right, yes.

My read on Schumer has always been that he was made for one specific moment, and when it came (Biden's first two years) he did great. But overall he's rather pathetic.

The thing about bandwagons is, they have lots of room.

It was flagged as a potential problem area for him after the primary and, by God, he went right to work, didn't he?

You don't understand, the Blacks are a white family in [insert name of state's wealthiest enclave].

LOL he won a primary and a general that both had record turnout, with an ostensible fellow Democrat running in the general.
November 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM
He won a rare three-way race that had record turnout.

The old model of talking for "the smartest person with the least formal education you know" may still have its place, but yes, Mamdani's speech was fantastic.
November 5, 2025 at 1:11 PM
Well, there's part of the problem: Why scramble to be the lesser evil when you could just be good instead? Ultimately, the burden is on candidates/parties to go out and get votes.
November 5, 2025 at 1:08 PM
He didn't even want to be Mayor, he just wanted the final verdict on him to be some sort of public validation.

"The Mamdani Incident" is Robert Ludlum's worst novel.
