Lastly, an update on the 2025 EA.
The United Workers Union team has been busy preparing for the next hearing on Oct 13th. We’ll keep you posted as soon as there’s any news. The commission, in consultation with unions, have identified preliminary concerns that need sorting out. Rest assured we’re taking the time to get this right, we’ve seen what happened with the 2020 EA, and we’re not letting Grill’d workers be worse-off.

New Tool for Grill'd Workers: PayCheck Know your pay. PayCheck allows you to get quick access to your rates of pay, and if you provide us your timesheets, an estimate on your pre-tax income. Understand your breaks. PayCheck alerts you if your breaks don't meet legal requirements, like 30-minute meals taken at the wrong time, or less than 10 hours between shifts. Rates based on the 2020 EA. PayCheck uses a powerful model under the hood to calculate rates of pay for all shifts worked after the 2025 increase to rates, as well as the Sep 29 uplift.

Today, Grill’d workers are striking for the second time in VIC, QLD and SA!

Last year, Grill’d workers made history by leading Australia’s first ever fast food strike. They challenged a dodgy pay deal, and won. The Fair Work Commission threw it out because Grill’d didn’t meet its legal obligations.
