Stopped by our veterinarian’s office to pay the last 10k of the 25k donated, we had to do it in chunks because of the spending limit on the card but we got it officially paid before the end of the year!! This helps us and them so much. Thank you so much for making this possible.

Our dear friend and fellow Rocket Cat Rescue board member @stellartabby.bsky.social made this piece of the cats we lost this year and every time I look at it I tear up because it makes me so happy to see them all together again. 🥹

If you’re a big fan of our resident blind cat Serafina, this IS the kitten for you. Maelle is basically Serafina’s mini me, and would very much like to demand preferential treatment in a home of her own.
Please adopt her, this place cannot contain two personalities of such tremendous size.

Our veterinarian wasn’t certain whether or not Maelle’s microphthalmic eyes were going to need to be removed, but they became increasingly problematic and we had an ophthalmologist with UC Davis check them out and decided enucleation was necessary. She has recovered fully and is up for adoption!

Prince is going to get the same laser surgery that Gus and Emma got, this will preserve what eyelids he already has and keep the hair from rubbing on his eyes. And Maynard, surprisingly enough, only needs one eye removed! I was really hoping we could save that right eye but thought it a long shot.

We got Maynard, Olive, and Prince in for eye exams there and cleared Olive for adoption immediately as her eyes are stable and don’t need any further addressing.
She got adopted right away and is doing fantastic in her new home with people who are experienced handling cat viral issues.

Yeah, she definitely didn’t read, it was the size that she’s flipping out about - it’s still going to affect our store visibility in Etsy searches for thres months though. 🫠

It’s really cool that people can order stuff on Etsy without actually reading the description then complain and leave one star reviews when it isn’t the item they made up in their minds when they ordered it. The Etsy shop is our main source of funding for the rescue, it really hurts when it happens.

After like two years of eagerly taking his seizure medication twice a day in churu, Teddy suddenly realized I’d been hiding a pill in it all along and now every day is a battle. He won’t even eat churu anymore, the trust is gone. 😂

He also got some X-rays and oh man, I am so relieved Michele wanted to take him on because he is a super complicated kiddo. His condition is likely caused by congenital hypothyroidism.

Baby Tokki was one of the cutest creatures I have ever seen and I spent many sleepless nights trying to keep her from dying on us when she first came to Rocket Cat.

Her hobbies included opening doors to forbidden rooms, not so that she could enter them herself, but so that she could let every other cat in the house into the forbidden room and walking away. It also made it impossible to use the restroom alone.

I miss her so much already. I’ve never met another cat with so much chaos gremlin energy and love.

Called around a bit to just feel out options and general consensus is that there’s nothing that can be done, I’m just having a hard time with it. I feel better for having at least consulted more people about it, just wish this wasn’t happening. I’ll be okay. Eventually.

Idk if there’s time at this point, but honestly my experience has always been with CKD cats so I don’t know. She was steadily improving and then she stopped, backslid, and stopped eating.

Can’t get her to eat anything at all today. Tried all the stinkiest foods and her favorites, she wouldn’t touch them much less the kidney food. Wish I had the money to just blow on trying dialysis since this started as an injury and not CKD but I wouldn’t even know where to start right now.

Goliath’s hanging in there, not pooping on his own yet but he is more alert and active today and eating for us now unassisted. He’s showing some minor signs of URI, but probably is not going to the emergency vet tonight? Fingers crossed?
