There really are only a couple free agents that seem to fit what they want and are fairly obvious positive additions.

This may be too specific to baseball, but we have found that increases in travel play undermines the cohesiveness of our rec leagues. It changes the gameplay and it perhaps changes the objectives behind participation.

I think the general thought is that small communities with low regional densities result in youth sports being more community based in nature.

Last year looked to be that big risk of going after players with upside, but also with some injury risk perhaps with the idea that the farm would provide some neutral value.

That didn't work.

I imagine the real story is that this is more so about MLB maintaining control and ownership over data generation and collection entities to make money centrally.

In other words, this will not help the bottom rung. They still need the people who are good at figuring out how to use the data.

The key will still be how well the data analysis will be integrated. I doubt it really impacts much at all and it will just go back to what the front office wants along with who they hire to carry it out.

I think it can be helpful to get some idea what a bland, general, internet perspective is on a subject or aspect of a subject just so you maybe can reality test a bit and see where you might be coming into things.
