Is there any point, when you’re threatening to break a judge’s car windows so you can detain the teenage Supreme Court intern he’s driving home for protection, that you’re like huh, maybe I’m the bad guy?

So, politicians sworn to uphold the Constitution are mad that the soldiers also sworn to uphold the Constitution might uphold the Constitution? Is this yet another thing the Trump regime reveals as some 18th century "Surely gentlemen would never violate an oath" bullshit with no enforced penalties?
This young man has it exactly right.

Seems to me that Friedman is cheating: bootstrapping GOP Neo-Nazism and using that to conflate all opposition to Israel with being pro-Hamas.

This is a growing problem for people who advocate for Israel.

Marjorie Tsylor Greene was hated by the left for years and never had to fear for her life. She is hated by the right for two days and hires a security detail. What does that tell you?

My 'side' is people who don't harm other people. Full stop.
Can confirm, I did say this, over on Threads. I stand by it here as well. And everywhere else!
“Re ‘There are a lot of people on your side who will be in the Epstein Files too!’: No there aren't, my side is the ‘People Who Don't Fuck Children’ side, anyone not on this side can get all the way into the bin, what side are YOU on, exactly?” — John Scalzi

Trumpworld is lashing out at Trump's 50 year mortgage plan. Not because banks aren't going to give a 50 year loan to anyone over 30, but because existing houses can instead be made available *cough* by deporting people who can't afford and aren't allowed to buy homes? Getting a Naqba vibe, there.

The Epstein scandals are again bringing out the strange "if you go after ours we'll go after yours" from conservatives. Yes, equally apply the law to everyone that breaks it. That's how it's supposed to work. Admitting that 'loyalty' matters more to them than ethics is not the flex they think.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Over the years I've had multiple instances of "why did you let the auditors access that" "because it's what they are here to find" "we didn't want them to" "perhaps consider not actually doing, let alone documenting, that then?" Apparently I have higher expectations of honesty than people deserve.
of all the atrocities these emails likely allude to, it's still amazing that 'elites' write awful things *in emails*. so above the law, so convinced of their rectitude, so conditioned to impunity.

Democrats now need to have any spending bill expressly amend the Impoundment Control Act to require review under the APA and render the stay moot. Of course, the 6 rogue justices will come up with something else. But make them work for it.

Best take so far: people who can't afford gas, food, or medical care fucked over in favor of people sad they might not be able to use their plane tickets to go feast.

What the fuck just happened? Why did Democrats give up? Blue wave election, Republicans branding their own names on every cruelty and corruption, no legally binding overrides of bad faith backsies such as clawbacks and rescissions, so what did Schumer get for it?

A long and comprehensive opinion, but this jumped out at me: The judge accused the Federal Protective Service—which was called in to suppress the protests—of lying under oath to slander the regular Portland police.😬

DOJ recently admitted that other FPS claims in this case were objectively false.

How out of touch do you have to be to say such a thing? Sigh. Rhetorical question.
