Sky News on Renee Nicole Good murder: "There are deeply conflicting accounts of what happened."

REALLY? Gonna both-sides this? One "account" can be seen on video and is confirmed by a dozen eye-witnesses. The other is a social media post by history's most notorious pathological liar.

Grow a spine.

To all those saying "but if our government spoke out, there might be consequences", please remember that not speaking out also has consequences. The history of appeasement is not a reassuring one.

Good interview in the paper, this. I think Sadiq is right: London 'needs' to be less successful than it is for a bunch of political arguments here in the UK to work, hence the fictions being invented about it:
Populists attack London because it is ‘progressive and successful’, says Sadiq Khan
Rightwing attacks on one of the world’s most visited cities at odds with reality, says mayor

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

@bbcstever.bsky.social Did the Russians lift their mad, upside-down views of Britain's top-level villainy towards them directly from my school history textbooks (Birmingham) circa 1970? I'm sure I recognise them...

Israel continues to level Gaza in full view of the whole world, killing displaced civilians as it ethnically-cleansing Palestinian land.

This genocide is being built in Britain. Stop arming Israel now.
Israeli assault on Gaza kills 21 including attack on tents
At least 21 Palestinians have been killed as Israel’s war on Gaza continues, now destroying high-rise buildings as Hamas receives the US’ ceasefire proposal.

I don’t want to be too shrill about this but I think the BBC, ITV and Sky have disgraced themselves in their coverage of the anti-refugee protests. A massive failure of judgement. But now we know the next time a progressive protest “isn’t news” that it’s nothing to do with numbers

Proud to have co-written this with some incredibly smart people.

If I had one main takeaway: there's nothing special about the Murdochs or Musks of the world. Their ascent to power is a policy failure – and policy is changeable.
The UK ranks dead last in global trust in the media, and it's only getting worse.

This neat little guide from Byline Books illuminates exactly how we got here, who is profiting, and how we build a truly public interest press.
