It was inserted with no real pain meds. They told me to take 2 tylenol beforehand and gave me a pack of skittles for the 15 mins they let you stay in the room to recover from the pain.

I had ovarian cysts as a side effect. One burst and it is the worst pain of my life.

I was physically and mentally worse on Mirena than the pill. Mood, PMDD, and incredibly painful cramps that would induce vomiting. And every OB I talked to said that's weird bc for my symptoms, they'd prescribe an IUD. So. This doesn't surprise me.

Why? It‘s known to cause severe side effects in *many* patients, including depression, significant weight gain, hair loss, and that‘s only the start. This is downplayed by most gynecologists because they parrot what the pharma industry tells them to, in this case Bayer who sells Mirena.

To read the university’s triumphant all-campus email about restored NIH funding, you’d think UC administrators made it happen. But that’s not true. In fact the UC *Faculty Association* organized the lawsuit; administrators kept their heads down and hoped it’d go away.

In 2022, I noticed a [sic] in the English Short Title Catalog, indicating a typo. This isn't a typo, but the record of a publisher named Catherine Sanger. Read about her in the open access People of Print, which has many other great chapters

My bus is late 63% of the time. I'm convinced the 37% is one driver who rolls up with doors already open so you jump on without them coming to a complete stop like we are cloak and dagger not commuting at 730 in the morning. This equals out with stopping for folks who need the ramp.
