The performance has reaallyyy started to suffer now, even zoomed in. Godot is not good with having thousands of scenes (A map of 50*50 chunks spawns around 90k trees) so if anyone knows of some better implementations please let me know. #godot#gamedev

The map came from a combination of Minecraft's old biome map, and just whatever seemed right to me. It may not be the most realistic but I liked how the maps looked.
The water is a separate process, using a singular noise map for altitude, although it does use the temperature map to color it. 3/3

Since the fractal noise I use tends to have a normal distribution from -1 to 1, the middle biomes are much more common, meaning that even though snow and tundra are bigger, plains and forests are more common. 2/3?
