I'm in the process of downsizing to the room across the hall bc my mom's mom has to move in with us (don't move 3 hours away from your kids if you have a family history of dementia, folks), and I'm taking my mandatory 7 hour break. Aka trying to sleep. It's not going good, as you can tell.

That feeling when you sneak downstairs at half past midnight to cold brew some meyer lemon tea while desperately trying not to wake your family. I said I might brew it. I know it won't be ready for sharing unless I did it tonight. Therefore I also knew I wouldn't be able to sleep til it was done...

Nothing in this world quite like the feeling of a blind & deaf cat deciding to snuggle with you at the exact moment when you, holding a fresh cup of coffee halfway to your face, close your eyes to savor the first sip. Long story short, her claw got stuck in my thigh and I took a coffee bath.

So... last week, maybe? I started crocheting again for the first time in nearly a year. I have now finished (not "am working on", FINISHED) 19 small projects! These are all no bigger than 8"x8" but still!!! What a comeback! Now to get back into painting...

Man, I really hope we don't lose power. We already had *something* go boom outside, and there was a power flicker, but... I have terrible anxiety and a fear of the dark and a blind & deaf cat who has decided to sleep upstairs for some reason (and giving me questions about said blindness)

We are cat-sitting one of my older siblings' cats. We have also been given a bag of sweet potatoes that have started shriveling. Mom took the potatoes out of the bag. Precious (sib's cat) took one look and immediately pounced. So now he has a sweet potato to play with. (No pics bc he moves too fast)

My sister's cat, Precious, is running around like a crackhead. I am very tired. I have to stay alert in case our cat, Evie, decides to climb things despite having detached retinas and poor balance and freshly trimmed claws. She is not what you might consider a genius. At 15, she doesn't have to be.

Making a Mongolian beef recipe from... probably allrecipes if I had to make a guess. It's in the other room. I got started too late due to my cat being a snuggly baby. She's 15 and has a detached retina. She gets the cuddles. Dinner's after 7 now. Worth it.

So it's probably not a good sign for your keto recipe if the thumbnail of it immediately makes me think it's a snake hatching video. Casseroles probably shouldn't look like sphagnum moss and hognose eggs.

Super excited for four more years of total dissociation from reality. Thrilled.
