They've already been beating the "more training" drum for over a decade! I get what Jamelle says and it's sensible enough, but I also understand why people have no faith in the current Dem establishment following up on the rhetoric.

The challenge will be isolating it from the money men who stomped out the first wave of digital new media because they weren't mega profitable and they hated every single person working in the field.

The old media landscape is a lost cause, imo. Got to start over from the ground up, which is already happening, but it'll take time to get established and start to flourish.

Yeah, but we've been hearing this particular song since at least 2014 and we never seem to get past the "more training!" part, so I think it's understandable for people to be very cynical about that happening this time.

Oh man, this has all the energy of the Zelda fan community I was in as a teen. one of the mods came out as gay (a brave thing in the early 00s) and the female members who initially were very supportive of him got really weird the moment he started commenting in the threads about yaoi manga.
