Trump's regime has murdered people in the water. He has seized ships on the high seas. He has invaded a country and kidnapped their leader.
All bets are off with the United States.
Canada needs to build alliances with Europe and to be ready on the home front.

The marriage that produces true Fascism has been made in front of our eyes in the last few years. Corporate interests have aligned with ultra nationalists. They produce endless narratives around threats to the nation, and claim everything is fine while working to tear everything apart.

We should all be worried about how the logic behind the military supporting police actions will be used against US citizens. The lengths these Fascists are willing to go to overthrow democracy can not be understated.

Weird feeling seeing something coming from miles away and still being shocked. Thinking forward, this could be the beginning of a massive collapse in the international order. Absolutely terrifying stuff. Naked imperialism in the 21st century is always an ugly sight.

As if Carney isn't pursuing policy that is making us more like them. He was Stephen Harper's banker. He's pursuing Neo-liberal policies that will push us in the wrong direction. He's not the worst (PP defs is), but Carney is going hard on the privatization/financialization and worrying a lot of ppl.

Last night really felt like our game, still a bit shocked we couldn't clean it up in the 9th. No hate to LA, they played super well. Until next year 🐦

The Neo-liberals always have an angle to make a dirty buck off of screwing over Canadians.

The brother of federal Industry Minister, Mélanie Joly, is the president and CEO of Intelcom, a courier company that exploits subcontracted delivery drivers for pennies per package. It stands to benefit mightily from the dismantlement and privatization of public postal services in Canada.
The privatization crisis at Canada Post
Canada Post is under attack. Political favouritism, privatized delivery, and precarious subcontracting are putting workers and public service at risk. From Intelcom’s exploitative practices to the gov...

Conservativism has always been about stopping or reversing the policies and ideas that erode the power of the rich and powerful. Their power was at one time absolute. Now they are desperately trying to maintain their last privilege, to hoard wealth and deny all obligations to the nation and citizens

The idea that left wing ideas and movements aren't directly behind pretty much all of the progress of the last 150 years is laughable and shows a poor understanding of economic and social history. Democracy is a result of progressive ideas, conservativism was originally monarchism or landlordism.

Warren: "Knock 15 million people off their coverage, drive up the cost for everyone else, close rural hospitals -- that's the Republican plan, because you know what the real heart of it was? They gave away a trillion dollars to the billionaires. That was the part that matters to them."

Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.

Mark Carney invokes wartime housing as inspiration for his $13B plan. But unlike the 1940s, when Ottawa directly built and managed affordable homes, his approach relies on P3s and market sales—policies that risk deepening, not solving, the housing crisis.
Mark Carney is no wartime homebuilder
Over the past three decades our governments have once again walked away from direct housing provision and, for the third time in a century, allowed the private sector to make a mess of our housing sys...

How the nation's newspaper of record is running cover for a fascist: A story in two skeets.

First, below, Trump is asked how he's holding up in the wake of Charlie Kirk's murder.

Trump clearly doesn't care. He's already moved on. He's more interested in his new ballroom than Charlie Kirk.
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

Is what you get when we allow Liberals to represent themselves as progressives, they cloak their policy in flowery language while doing the bidding of large corporations and their stakeholders. This person is either working for them or a dangerous fool.

Did you take money from Techno Fascists like Musk and Thiel in order to promote your draconian surveillance bill, or are you really just their unwitting stooge? You claim to be a Progressive but you do nothing for working people, shame on you

You can't possibly expect us to believe the surveillance bill is about protecting children when you call for a private corporation to log all of our IDs. How much of a stake will you get in that company? Or maybe just some kickbacks eh? Shame on you.

We’re told defence spending creates jobs, but most of that money goes to foreign-made weapons, not Canadian workers.

Real job creation means building homes, schools, transit, and green energy—not fighter jets and submarines to fight imaginary future wars.
