One of the duties of the independent intellectual is to push back against those who would deny the public their right to know about issues that impact their lives. Like climate change.
Here is a classic example (one among many of late):

'Attack on Independent Science': Trump EPA Removes All Mention of Human-Caused Climate Crisis From Public Webpages | Common Dreams
In what the Union of Concerned Scientists called "an attack on independent science," the Trump administration has purged all information about human causes of climate change from EPA websites.

I have to admire how Chicagoans are stepping up to support their immigrant street vendors. This is excellent on several levels.

Navigating the present moment demands that we record and curate the history around us, before others degrade, censor, distort, or dismiss the events of our times. The good news is, anyone can do it.

The Epstein Sex Slavery business - let call it what it is - proves that too much wealth and too much power in too few hands is a moral corruption of society. Until we’re ready to end wealth hoarding, this will continue to happen. It’s what the very wealthy always do: they get away with atrocities.
