I like ratios, particularly those per capita ones.
Meyrink was a German writer living in Prague. His sarcasm targeted arrogance esp. in academia & the military.
I looked up daily energy use worldwide and converted it to kWh equivalents, then put it on an hourly basis in kW (kWh/h). Somebody please tell me where the good news is. The graph tells me that the problem is a lot bigger than people admit.

The average German uses 0.65 kW electricity, and 4 kW of energy in total. If we want to get to netZero, we need to replace all of that with CO2 free energy. If we want to do that without nuclear energy, we will need storage per person of 50kWh (200 kg Li Ion batteries) just to bridge 12h.

Ich will lernen.

My googled question was: " remove norton utilities up sell from norton 360 home screen". I don't think the AI answer is applicable anymore. Anyone can help?
I have family members which will click on this :)

Why is everybody right wing who doesn't 100% agree with you? What about the European statistics agency?
August 22, 2025 at 11:16 PM
I'm not a conservative but I'm regularly stunned by everyone's resistance to facts. Take these two graphs by the EU statistics agency and see how they square with the claims above:

This is just electricity. Germans like many Europeans use about 0.65kW of electricity, but 3kW of total energy, which still needs to be electrified. That is why European CO2 per capita emissions are still so high.
August 22, 2025 at 11:12 PM
You are talking about electricity only. The actual power is 5x higher. Every German uses 0.65kW electricity, but 3kW of total energy, which we will still have to turn to electricity. German electricity costs are the highest in Europe and CO2 per capita is much higher than most.
August 22, 2025 at 11:09 PM
Ok so why this?
August 12, 2025 at 3:21 AM
August 11, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Yes, and who produces more CO2 per capita, the bad French or the virtuous Germans?
August 11, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Yes These are ways to produce more energy, but there is a far more effective one, nuclear fission, and it has been proven to scale. Just compare Germany to France.
August 11, 2025 at 7:42 AM
I asked AI what is typical, but I don't know whether that answer is right:

Then explain why Germany has such high CO2 emissions compared to France.
It is exactly because during intermittency the country uses even coal and loads of gas power to make up for the missing energy. We already discussed that you can't make up for that gap with any existing storage tech.
July 26, 2025 at 7:14 AM
Nuclear is a lot cheaper than what Germans pay for energy today.
July 26, 2025 at 7:11 AM
The chance of having no sun at night is very high. Also wind is intermittent. Germany produces more than 50% of its energy with renewables at times, yet emits almost double the French CO2 per capita. The country uses coal and gas powered power plants to make up.
July 26, 2025 at 1:32 AM
I'm not making excuses for Trump or Thiessen.

But we actually do not have the tech, at the needed scale.

Americans use 1.3kW of electricity (4.5kW total) per capita.
To store that for just 12 h, you'd need 50kWh (200kg Li Ion) for everyone.
So storage is actually a very hard problem.

July 23, 2025 at 9:46 PM
July 23, 2025 at 7:31 PM
July 18, 2025 at 12:21 PM
July 17, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Die Daten sprechen für sich. Ich dachte es geht ums Klima.
