So fucking upset that I spent half a year or so working 80-90 hour weeks primarily to get Lisa Brown elected to congress. I was in meetings with her every other week, I know she's been to protests before, I know she knows how this works. Utterly despicable

You can find the management agreement here. Note it is signed by the previous owners but if I'm reading right the contract says it applies to future owners as well

Anyone know an expert on Spokane historic landmarks? The Broadview building (leased by ICE) is registered as a Historic property. Here's a screenshot from the management agreement with the city. I'd like to highlight (C) change in use

The most recent thing I've been able to find on the sale is in this article, which notes it is managed by Goodale & Barbieri which I believe is still correct based on fliers from the company that are online

For accountability: I saw a post on here, went to confirm it. Saw a Google preview that matched what I'd read under a headline "broadview dairy changes hands". Problem is article was about the sale of multiple buildings and the portion in the preview was about a different sale.

The Fraternal Order of Police is on the side of MAGA and against the people they are supposed to be "policing." I think this says a lot to the people who insist local police are going to be "resistance."

When police budget is twenty times the housing budget, where is the compassion and balance? I can tell you from watching about 1000 first appearances in the Spokane municipal and county court system if enforcement was going to solve homelessness and the opioid crisis it would be solved already

We also want public camping and open drug use to end, for the sake of people who are living outside and struggling, and for our collective sense of safety,” Mayor Brown said. “This work is about balance, and we are committed to connecting people to the resources they need, while also creating an enforcement mechanism for those who continually choose to violate the law."

“Our community deserves both compassion and accountability. By updating our engagement and enforcement ordinance, I believe we can achieve both and create a system that connects resources to those who are ready for them, while also holding accountable those who repeatedly create public disorder,” Councilmember Zack Zappone said.
