I am old enough that several of my uncles and my father were veterans of WWII. Some saw very intense combat or were members of the resistance behind the lines. In my early jobs, I worked with vets from both sides. War is hell. Punch Nazis.

About 5 years before retirement I saw this strip. I nailed it to my cubical wall. I know my boss saw it. No problem. I actually managed much of the plan but like to think that I was slightly more useful. I did train replacements in the legacy stuff.

Stove: 1991. I have replaced one oven element and one stove element. Several years ago the electro-mechanical clock died. We managed to order another. We could easily bypass it for cooking but it was necessary to run the self cleaning function. Works great.

I wish we had the ice wall.

Long ago I had a 1960 F-100. It was a decent workhorse. Tiny by today's standard I live in a place where lots have pickups and actually use them for hauling stuff (firewood, trailers, etc.) The more urban the area, the more stupid it gets. Stats say ~70% of pickups never haul/tow anything. F100 pic.

This bald eagle has been very vocal for the last two days and staying nearby. I think we have a family here again.

If you have trouble with LGBTQ identifying folks, I will identify as a fucking problem.

I got this bike just under 2 years ago. I needed an e-bike to get up my hill because OLD. Pedal assist. Most comfortable bike I've ever had.

I've read this 3 times in my 70 years and knew people closely who fought in WWII. The US is deep into this story right now. Think I am exaggerating? Read it and get back to me.

A generation of up and coming scientists will be impacted by this Luddite administration. People whose skills we will desperately need as the world environment changes. A society performing a lobotomy on itself before face humanity's greatest challenge. Sigh.

Are you still on the boat? Kathleen made a first serious try at sour dough. It turned out fine.

You can still see some impressive glaciers by driving the Icefield Highway in Banff/Jasper National Park. Canada. I suggest April-May for light traffic and lots of snow.

Also a good cookbook. My parents gave me this one when I moved out over 50 years ago, I could make maybe 8 things at the time. This teaches everything from skinning a rabbit to Crepes Suzette. I still use it. It can still be hunted down. I gave one to my youngest. He loves it.
