Early impressions of Silent Hill: f. Wonderful atmosphere, incredible score, the Dark Shrine does little for me (after one visit). Hopefully you get to enter some buildings now...

Day 2 of @fwfilmfestival.bsky.social begins with Fair Game. While still featuring sexual assault, this ends up avoiding the nastier extremes of the sub-genre. Somewhat welcomely, it instead offers a really well shot give & take battle between heroine and poachers. Ends up feeling a little Home Alone

Lee never looked that scary as Dracula by today's standards....except for in this film. Genuine threat.

1958 mind. This film looks superb and this is just the blu-ray. I want 4k disks for all the Hammer classics.

Continuing the Hammer rematches, following up one Gothic masterpiece with another. I was in the mood for The Devil Rides Out but I'm still reading the book for the first time.

Sat chilling at the 48 seat cinema in Hay, hoping to get in. Turns out there a few of us hoping for no shows. Hopefully will get some shots of the theatre itself...

I've never read a Dennis Wheatley novel but Christopher Lee swore by them.

'I shall not be back, but something will. Tonight.'

So according to this pamphlet, there are 26 places selling books , so I guess if you want to look in each there's plenty. It's funny though. While a Waterstones would probably be an anathema to a town like this, I wonder whether a small shop would aid or kill the second hand trade (1/2)

First little pick-up. Being that I came here with his spoky novel, The House on the Borderland, I wanted to continue that vibe.
