My Mum was not silly then.
She bought several of the rolls early and froze them. I think in recent years they have become very popular for trifles as you say makes it fancy.

I just buy a sponge and put raspberry jam on it. Have not made one in quite a few years now though.

Oh my goodness. Thanks for making me still feel ok about wearing a mask most places . I have not had it yet and I really don't want it due to my comprised lungs. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
