Evening event on polarization a few years ago. The speaker claims that he can predict anyone's view on most political issues based on their stance on e.g. immigration.

This seems doubtful. List ~50 issues (ask AI) and think about the perspectives from society's poles.

To what extent is the management of the economy by our institutions based on faith? Can we measure inflation, GDP or employment in a timely manner? Are we making progress in the understanding their relationships?

Reconciling complexity versus simplicity. Occam's razor versus Ashby's law of requisite variety. It is rather fitting that there is no single equivalent of Occam's razor in complexity.

What's the soul of your country? Inspired by the subtitle of a book on bushido, is this an interesting question to consider? What spiritual basis is both a broad and deep influence of a country? Or what kind of spirit permeates daily life in many facets?

Why travel to a destination? Apart from visiting a friend, family, business, which are all good reasons, I'm interested in travel purely for the destination, because those are identity-shaping travels. How to establish affinity to a place you don't know yet?

Thales is believed to have said that "everything is full of Gods". Bruno Latour argued that "there is always a God waiting in ambush".

Did these thinkers have the same idea, 25 centuries apart? Are there limits to our understanding? Is there always a transcendence just around the corner?
