Just finished a Neo Geo Pocket IPS screen mod after finding a boxed console for parts. The touch sensor to change the palette colours doesn't work, but it's still so much better than a non-working screen, or a non-backlit one.

Feels like a set up for a @consolewars.bsky.social episode.
*raises Super Nintendo cartridge*
“- And I played it on the Super Nintendo.
- That’s it! Are we doing this?”

Pas de alt, ça tient pas, désolé.

I bought a camera blower to remove dust when modding handhelds and wanted to make a Gridfinity bin for it. It fits in a 2x5, but with plenty of wasted space on either side. Any ideas what I should make room for? Maybe space for a small lint-free cloth? #gridfinity

A French journalist and a French Youtuber worked on a deep investigation into the “You wouldn't steal a car” PSAs from the early 2000s, but the most important part is that there's now “You wouldn't steal a car” baseball caps.

“It's Spooling Saturday.
- That's not a thing.
- It is if I spool things on a Saturday”

Some fully 3D printed Gridfinity compatible spools to clean up my cable drawer. In front the spools, the length of cable it will take.

En tractation pour être vendu à Bolloré, donc pas de surprise.

But I get to show you how I sort the screws during disassembly: pen, paper and tape. I could use a magnetic mat, but that would make it harder putting away if I needed to wait for parts.

Procrastinated the whole week on taking my Plextor archiving optical drive apart for a recap. Turns out the lens just needed a clean.

There are many MagSafe phone holders, but there were none for people still using cable charging and with cluttered nightstands (eg. me). So I made one.

PSA: Don’t buy the Bambulab “Beige” (PLA Basic 10201) expecting a 1980-90 computer aesthetic, it’s a really soft pink instead.
Photo was calibrated with a gray card.

USB-C Power Supply for the Philips CD-i 370 (and probably the GoldStar GPI-1200M), coming soon.

With no spare parts that fit exactly, and a construction that doesn't lend itself to reassembly, the only thing I could do was scavenge it for parts.

Disassembling further leaves no room for doubt. Both the Fresnel lens that focuses the light and the polariser were completely toast from excessive heat.

I managed to get pretty far, thinking that the blotchy spot was caused by a damage LED array. But we have a single bright LED instead.

Was given a cheap unbranded projector with “darkened image” symptoms.

Another 3D printed-3D printer accessory. The problem I run into the most on my Bambulab printer is PLA filament breaking in the AMS.
So I replaced the “main frame” with the Hydra AMS, and a remix of the middle section that gives the same access to the PTFE tubes that the new AMS2 does.

Was that a friendly? A qualifier of some sort? An exhibition game? I’m really curious now.
