Leaving didn’t come back as fruitful. Trying to change fields didn’t help. Trying to please my manager just got me burnt. Trying to hustle on the side is just taking time to get it right.

I have increasingly been convinced with the idea that being stranded in a demanding job with a hypocritical manager isn’t worth it anymore.

Don’t tell me this game isn’t rigged.

I applied in other countries too. Apparently not having experience in that specific country wouldn’t even get your CV past the first review.

Then I thought to myself that this is probably a sign to stay in the field I am in. So I applied again. Even that did not pan out well for me.

It’s not like I wasn’t flexible. In fact, the intention was to change fields completely. So that’s what I did. I applied to different positions in fields that made sense to me. It didn’t work out.

2 degrees and 12 professional certifications later, I am still considered not enough.

So I’ve been using it for a week and all I can say is:
- Keyboard definitely sucks.
- Overheats like crazy.
- Still runs smoothly, barely.
- Size is absolutely adorable.

I ended up finding a pink one, great condition and 44 charging cycles after 9 years was quite a discovery.

It honestly doesn’t matter at this point of how much more I apply. Being told to “be hopeful” and “the right opportunity will come by” is hard to swallow right now.

I’ll post a rant about this later.

Performance is a very subjective aspect when it comes to laptops. YouTubers have this thing where they set the benchmarks to video editing, photo editing, music production, etc.

I don’t need that.

As a user, my needs are very simple when it comes to the practicality of a laptop. Make it wake up fast, give it a beast of a battery and a performance that’ll make me enjoy using it for a while.

What made me realize that the Dell’s days were over was when I go and pickup a laptop from my desk to just open it and work instantly, I almost always picked up my MacBook.

And don’t get me started with the standby mode when comparing the XPS with the M1 Pro MacBook Pro. No competition for the Mac. Seriously.
December 9, 2024 at 5:15 AM
To the point where I tried to convince myself to keep using the XPS because of its keyboard, but even the Mac’s magic keyboard was hard to stay away from.

Unfortunately, the downfall to this device was as soon as Apple’s M-Series chips were introduced. One year apart, but the MacBook was just too good to even justify using the XPS. Especially when it came to the fans and heat.

And yes. I throw a @dbrand.bsky.social skin on all of my devices because… I have to.
