Bush was not uniquely evil and terrible though. You could name a hundred Republicans who would have made the same decisions he did as President. That wasn’t the case with Trump although I think it will be going forwards.

Of course it won. Russia tried to conquer all of Ukraine and Ukraine managed to resist being conquered. That Russia has barely moved the lines it had retreated to since the invasion began is a victory.

Maybe we should consider not allowing the wealthy to borrow against unrealized gains to then make huge profits that could potentially be shielded from taxation. We do not have to enable tax avoidance strategies.

I think this is a view you are not naive enough to hold. Politics is and always has been about propaganda. We simply lost that war over the last decade and that led to 2024. That covers Covid, the economy, and Gaza, etc but you prefer to scapegoat a small number of voters as THE reason for losing.

We can’t wish for the electorate and reality we’d like and instead must deal with it as it is. 2024 was it was a failure on all levels of what’s the considered the broad “left”. Actually a decade of failure rooted in the capture of social media and the establishment media by right wing interests.
