I enjoyed today’s conversation on if journalists are in the business of persuasion. Many journalists say they’re not. They just find the hard facts. And maybe that’s true. But which facts do they choose to show? I liked how prof. Wagner said they are persuading us on what to think about #UWJ201 #302

The spiral of silence is something I find so fascinating. It’s in every part of our lives and often we fall into it without realizing it. While it can have many negative effects I’m curious if you guys think there could be any benefits? #UWJ201 #302

Today’s lecture, discussed a study showing how people from both ideological sides may perceive unfair bias against their point of view in a perfectly balanced article. I found it interesting this could be further influenced by how much reach the person received the article as having #UWJ201 #302

Today’s lecture discussed the 10 categories that impact if we are living the “good life” and how mass communication impacts those. I’m curious which ones you guys feel mass communication affects the most in your life. #UWJ201 #302

I really enjoyed the time Professor Wagner spent on the Coca-Cola name campaign in today’s lecture. I found it fascinating that something that seems so organic (people’s entertainment and engagement over social media) can be prompted by others doing so much work behind the scenes #UWJ201 #302

AI chat bots was a fascinating topic in lecture today. Although the development is really incredible and can be helpful I found the human looking AI at the end of the video almost unsettling. Would you guys prefer the machine or human looking chat bot? #UWJ201 #302

I loved looking at all the strategies companies use within their ads in today’s lecture. I’m curious to hear which tactics you guys find the most captivating and influential. For me the catchy songs and slogans or the memorable “mascots” are the ones that stick with me the most #UWJ201 #section302

Today’s lecture discussion on political ads was fascinating. Ads have changed over time from lighthearted songs to attacks on the opposing candidates using fear tactics. What do you think caused this shift? Is it only because fear is motivating? Or were there other factors? #UWJ201 #section302

#UWJ201 #section302 With companies tracking our data and online footprints to personalize our feed, advertising is becoming more successful. But how do I, as a consumer, know who has my information and where it is being shared? We need more transparency on how our personal info is shared and used
