Before I built the Patreon ceramics for November (a pitcher), I wanted to make a test one. Here it is with the two pieces put together; I needed to figure out what I wanted to do with the seam, and also what sort of handle did I want to make.

I've been under the weather the last couple of days - either post-craft-show-crash, or "you spent ten hours in wet shoes and socks in cold rainy weather and NOW YOU WILL PAY" - so I've had a lot to do but have been crashing right after. But I got a few restocked things put up on the website today…

What do you do when you make a Big Beautiful Bowl, and it sells? You make another! Ok, technically I made two, to bring to GLAM with me - but this one of the pair came back home - so now you can admire it online (www.haldecraft.com/products/big...). The drips on this bowl are like watercolors.

Slowly over the next week I'll be catching up on sleep but also adding things to the website as I get them unpacked and photographed. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces yesterday. I love you, Gainesville! 🤎

Yesterday was amazing! Wet, cold, wet, windy, and did I mention wet? I had to buy a brewery sweatshirt to change into after unloading and setting up because I was SOAKED! But Gainesville, y'all SHOWED UP! In spite of the rain and closing down an hour early (because rain), it was a great day!

Scenes from a work day; everything I have that's sea turtles, finally all bisqued and ready for glazing (plus a custom address plaque, in progress).

These girls, y'all. I love how they love each other. Are they my rescue dogs? Or am I their rescue human???

So, those two mugs I showed off last week, the ones I mentioned earlier didn't turn out well so I went in a different direction for the ones that were left…. here they are, in Little Geek, and honestly they look so bad I don't even want to show them off.

It's Works-in-Progress Wednesday, and I'm working on getting ready for a craft show! It's the only one I regularly do, and it's one I've been doing for twelve years now. It's a fantastic event, and the coordinator does an amazing job of choosing vendors, arranging the space, and finding food trucks.

It's hard to get mad at your employee for being late to work when she's this cute. And also using you as a pillow, so you're going to be late as well…

Two of the three cats living in my back studio catio - is it weird I have so many catios that I have to specify by them by name??? Anyway… This is Troublesome (the gray) and… Tuxy (I've not actually named her). Not pictured, Big Mama, one of the two solid black ones that had kittens under my house.

I still find it hard to believe this sweet girl just showed up on my property, either having been dumped or having escaped and gotten so far from home nobody could find her (or they weren't looking). I mean, look at this sweet face! No thoughts, just vibes.

Scenes from a work day; the tortoise soaking bath, glazed, and ready to be fired. I'm so excited!!!!

Scenes from a work day; future berry baskets. I'm hoping to get these bisqued/glazed/fired to take to GLAM with me… Yes, it's starting to get to that crunch of what I want to get done vs what I have time to get done… It's the Maker's version of "my eyes are bigger than my stomach."

What a kiln firing! I'm either over the moon about a piece or have already started overglazing because I'm unhappy. Guess which is which? I'll tell you what, though, not getting overglazed is that amazing brown bowl! That new-to-me technique blows me away!

I should be inside getting some work done on my website, checking for outdated photos and tweaking some listings... But y'all, look at that sky! Those stars! How can I not stay out here and admire them?

The staff members who nap together …. uh …. snap together? Rest together/nest together? Lounge together/… uh… what rhymes with "lounge"??? ANYWAY. I'm trying to tell you that my staff wishes you a snuggly weekend. Even if they are the laziest employees ever!
