I lost yarn chicken on this shawl (notice the short piece of yarn bridging the two tips…that’s all that’s left), and I’m trying to decide what my next step is. Unfortunately there isn’t enough yarn to make the wings long enough for the body wrap option. #Knitting 🧶

Currently working on N-ogee by @norahgn.bsky.social. The yarn is Mountain Meadow Cody, which is a yarn that was made for cables and rib…the lively springiness of the yarn is magic.

Since I’ve had a few comments about my color choices for the Creatief Kerchief, let me show you the project they’re left over from.
A few years ago, I remade the Awry Hat and Mitts set in a single-stranded version with three colors. /1

I’m making the Creatief Kerchief by @solace-in-stitches.bsky.social from this Spring’s issue of Knitty.
My favorite short hook Tunisian tip is to use a foam stitch stopper at the end of the hook. Stays put better than a hair elastic, and it looks tidier.

That brief period of time during assembly when this crochet spider is an insect 🧶
(Okay, the body would have three sections instead of two, but grant me some leeway for the sake of the joke)

I won yarn chicken with this purple yarn. The bind-off for these purple stitches is a color not depicted in this photo. (The framing of this photo is deliberate to avoid disqualifying spoilers, because it’s an original that’s getting submitted somewhere.)

Finally got around to baking the cheesecake I promised I was going to make at the beginning of the year. Filling is Junior’s recipe, crust is a crumb crust made from dried-out marranitos, and the mocha sauce is the recipe from Epicurious that uses Dutch cocoa and bittersweet chocolate.

Despite mentioning my dilemma with the picasso finish seed beads, I’ve yet to share a photo of that cowl on here.
I think having to supplement with a different but coordinating color in the same finish made it even better…gives more depth to the color of the beads and emphasizes the speckles.

Rocky has been sitting on my lap for over an hour and a half. I might never have permission to move again. I love how smug this cat gets about sitting on me!

Finished clearing up room on my desk to be able to do repairs on my Switch Lite, but I don’t have enough time to do the actual repairs right now and it’ll have to wait until later in the day.

Here’s that brioche cowl I knit for my little sister after seaming. I didn’t get a photo of it modeled, but I have another version of it in the non-gradient version of the same yarn (Rowan Felted Tweed). You can rotate that point any direction you want and it’ll look good. It’s also reversible. 🧶

Greetings to all of the new folks from #LSG! If you don’t remember who I am, I’m “Henry’s Human”, although Henry himself passed away over two years ago. Here he is with his favorite realistic squeaky mouse, and the handknit alpaca replica of his favorite toy.

For those of you who needed a cute kitty with knitting 🧶 photo, here’s Stella with a wild loopy headband I made out of Malabrigo Caracol, right before the graft. (It’s the Winter Fringe Headband from Lynne Barr’s The Shape of Knitting.)

First completed puzzle of 2025 (although my mother and I started assembly on NYE). It’s Bodega Cat by New York Puzzle Company. Something about true random cut pieces is so addictive to assemble…you feel compelled to keep puzzling until it’s done.

And in more cool stuff I’m knitting 🧶 for gifts, here’s my progress on the syncopated brioche cowl I’m making for my sister. All I have left now is to undo the temporary bind-off, do an Italian bind-off on half the stitches, then graft the other half to the side of the narrow end.

Here’s my completed stranded colorwork hat with my original Grogu motif. I also did a helmet as filler at the top. This is folded vertically to show only one panel of the hat (there’s four panels and the crown decreases so rapidly this is the only way to see it completely flat).

Here’s that motif I designed earlier this week…it’s Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda.
Since I’m on a deadline for this hat, I’ve used the framework of a different hat and inserted these motifs into it.

Is there anything quite like a perfectly aligned graft that will be completely undetectable on the finished knit except if someone notices a slight discrepancy in the stripe sequence? #knitting 🧶

Last, but not least, here’s the bottom of the gnomes. Perhaps I should have thrown some of the remaining yarn in the pot with the gnomes, but it’s also the very bottom of the gnome, so unless you pick one up, you’d never see it. /end

But despite the paintwork looking garish and clunky before they hit the hot bath to set them, the painted areas diffused out beautifully during the boil, and gave it a nice, blended look. (Tip: use citric acid powder instead of vinegar to set dyes.) /3

Been on here for over a week, and yet I haven’t posted any actual knitting content yet. So here’s my zombie gnomes. (Pattern is Never Not Gnoming by Imagined Landscapes, with my own unique finishing details). The knitted pieces were painted with Wilton icing gels. /1

Reposting what I said on Threads last week and pinning it, so people unfamiliar with me know where I stand. Despite using several insults from constructed languages, I think my point is still clear.
