For the price you're paying of 20 bucks or less even, Dead Take is an great sit down one evening experience. Much like a movie, get some popcorn, and do your best to take it all in. Big thanks to @surgentstudios.bsky.social for a really interesting game, can't wait for whatever they do next.

Dead Take also had quite a stellar performance. Obviously Ben Starr and Neil Newbon stand out as main characters, but so does the rest of the cast. ESPECIALLY Jane Perry, who stole the show any time you saw her.

It also did a good job of keeping me on edge, yet it wasn't wasn't being cheap with jumpscares. They exist, sure, but with a proper buildup most times, and more of the game focusing on a constant dread as you fill in the blanks of what's really happened.

That said, the game more than makes up for it with a genuinely gripping story that pulled me in, watching a tale about how Hollywood and various artistic media forces you to sell your soul to get anywhere, and asking if you'd be willing to pay said price. It knew exactly what it wanted to say.

They also stay strongly in the medical field, as an email of medical reports has a higher likelihood in leaking things like medical information. A fax can already be bad enough, but a fax sent to the wrong number isn't nearly as bad as an email sent to the wrong address, or a hack.
