“Her lips curved in a smile” is actually quite descriptive. It conjures an image of a sweet, gradual smile (or alternatively, a smouldering smirk). “She smiled” will usually conjure an image of a quick, friendly, non-curved grin. Open/teeth & closed/no teeth doesn’t matter btw. It’s about the CURVE

The “meticulously organized” part is especially important, as the wide commercial spacing between furniture, books/piles of books, and shelves allows more light to reach EVERY item, with no extra shadows on them. The difference is the most clear in designer vs bargain clothing stores:
