I once found & bought a signed copy of a Jonathan Safran Foer novel that's *almost* addressed to me ("to Hannah"). I am a fundamentally irrational person though so I just thought "Whoa, imagine the odds of this finding its way to me!" :)

There are many ethical brands already! I recommend the Good on You app.

The Netherlands: in 2023 ~52% of the 25-44 age group had a college or university degree (56% of women, 48% of men). Tuition fees have gone up in that time from ~1100 to ~2700 euros/year, not negligible but also not a fortune. Students also receive a govt grant of ~€300/month.

...which is so comparatively minor but i guess that is the point - nothing is unaffected when your beliefs about who someone is completely fall apart.

i know the exact feeling! like we all used to make jokes about his syntactic terminology which was all binding and commanding and dominating but now I feel I have to completely reconsider whether they actually were jokes.

Jasper Velzel was jarenlang mijn buurjongen.

I checked and was really disappointed to realise they just made participants look at 3d-rendered models. :(

I looked up the study this likely referred to and surprise, the actual data do not support this conclusion. Also the respondents were all born between 1925-1950, basically the most outlier-y cohort in European history. But even then it looks like women were happiest in same-age relationships.

"...raising uncomfortable questions about morale, accountability and the human cost of America's immigration enforcement machine."

In that case, I stand corrected. I felt it was not ridiculous enough to be satire, but with the Ableism Discourse it is admittedly hard to be more over-the-top than the actual thing

Unfortunately, i have seen enough of Twitter's early 2020s Ableism Discourse that I am quite sure they are 100% serious

I don't *mind* page numbers but honestly making me look up the city a book was printed in is a hate crime.

they might've benefited from the panel about how it's ok to take a break from social media
