Preparing this paper was a really great opportunity - I was able to apply the learning gained through detailed study of the #IPCC to the design of a new international, independent panel on Antimicrobial Resistance #AMR. These are the key lessons learned

A review of my book! I can't agree that the data was limited to 2010 because I'm still conducting interviews now! But this first period of interviews was the most influential on how I understood what the #IPCC is and does

Science Panel for the Amazon Youth workshops aim to launch an Amazonian #youth vision at #COP30 in #Belém. Participants at Brazilian workshop argued

public policies should be created “from the rivers outward” rather than “from outside the Amazon inward,” ignoring the local context from within

In the @camamazon.bsky.social project, we want to situate understanding of #climate negotiations in time and place and examine how this shapes an event and our knowledge of it. In this blog, I reflect on observations made in #Bonn outside the #SB62 venue

Sonia Guajajara:

COP30 will be historic not only because it is taking place in the Amazônia, but because it could usher in a new form of climate governance: pluralistic, community-based, fair and guided by those who have always known how to care for the Earth

For the @camamazon.bsky.social team accommodation booked through the official platform:

#COP29 $204 per person/night for 2 of us to stay in a windowless hotel room (eventually upgraded)

#COP30 $170 per person/night for 3 of us to stay in a two bedroom apartment

Looks like the same crazy!

NORWAY UPDATE

- In the 2nd quarter of 2025, we spent more on fossil fuel extraction than we've ever spent before

- 2025 will probably end up with record-high investments in fossil fuels

- Spending is so high every prior projection wildly underestimates final $$ (this is worsening since 2021)
