I'm kinda wary of these storms though....in 2004 it seemed like the fall storm had fizzled out, only to come on strong and flood front Street.

No, this is in Nome. Kotzebue is getting more flooding than we are in Nome so could be more of a mess up there

I haven't. There hasn't been much for people moving around today, school was called off, and some business closed.
Now as folks get off work and the rain seems to have subsided I suspect some will drive down to safety to check

Down here in Nome, the water is not over any of the seawalls. If this wind continues for another day or so I would expect it to though.
