Hey Bluesky people if you want to criticize our coverage contact me directly and explain the issue and if we got the facts wrong I’ll fix it! Better yet, if you have a background in medical research, healthcare or science, write an article for us explaining why we are wrong! I LOVE learning! 🧪

Truly honored to have lead the inaugural chapter on #MECFS management in the @elsevierconnect.bsky.social textbook Scientific Basis of Fatigue, "Management of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A New Narrative." The greatest honor of all was co-authoring with my role models--
Dr. Stephanie Grach, a Caucasian woman with brown eyes and (currently) shoulder-length brown hair, holding a textbook open to the mentioned chapter's first page. Wearing a blue suit jacket, red/blue shirt, and blue KN95 mask, against a purple-gray background.

The way google and Facebook have advertising sewn up I have no ill will will towards any publication that can find a way to make even a pittance through affiliate sales. We can’t pay for journalism without any income! What do readers expect us to do when google disincentivizes people visiting?
jasonkoebler.bsky.social
if you work for a publication that does this and have any idea how much $$$ your outlet makes from affiliate sale commissions on prime day, DM or signal me: jason.404

also interested if you are a journalist who is asked to do these deal roundups as part of your job

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

yeah we’ve already covered that ground extensively. How about reading the article and engaging with the interesting research instead .
joatmnb.bsky.social
it’s not relevant to my readers that you in particular have to pay for it. If you want to complain about your access to healthcare do it in an appropriate venue not in my replies. This applies to everyone. If you want to engage it’s ok, but make sure it is productive and relevant to the article.

I am going to assume that this is an honest question. There is a technique in writing and rhetoric called a “rhetorical question”. It is a question for people to ask themselves, it does not need an answer. I’m not sure what you thought you would achieve by giving what sounds like a hostile answer.

Thank you, I agree, well meaning people in general are very quick to try to solve ‘problems’ but we need to step back and check whether it’s actually a problem first.

Re your deleted reply: I’m not sure there was dual messaging, the evidence is pointing towards autistic traits arising from the physical structure of the brain and how it developed. I’m not sure there is anyway you could “cure” that. It’s also not necessarily disabling. Do we need to cure it?
joatmnb.bsky.social
Further to your comment, the word “disability” was used once in the article to describe the experience for a subset of people whose autism is disabling.
