The miltary analysts I trust the most, i.e. the ones that talked to Ukrainian soldiers in detail about the first days of the invasion, have gone on the record that things were a lot closer than commonly presented and could have gone the other way too. Hostomel, the infiltrators in Kyiv, etc.

Honestly, if we get serious about building up our defense industry, that will at least give them the satisfaction we're finally taking them seriously.

That's a better basis for negotiations than what we've been doing the last four years.

That was an exasperating read. Doubly so because I fully realize, any unsolicidated 'advice' I feel compelled to offer runs the risk of making me part of the problem, not the solution.

So I'll just say I recognize what a dilemma this is, and that anyone who's been there has my full sympathy.

I only saw the first season. Laurie was good as always, and I found it passably amusing. Not as good as The Thick of It, though.

I guess since the Russian invasion, I don't have as much an attention span left for fiction.
