AI slop will always look cheap no matter how much the technology improves because it _is_ cheap. "This looks like it's AI generated." is already a synonym for bad art.

I always enjoy it when authors treat their prior works hostile.

Look at these idiots and their stupid results (My stinky old paper, 2023)
When previous research contradicts your findings:

A) Acknowledge the prior work and provide a reasoned rebuttal.
B) Omit it

The Muppet Christmas Carol remains my favourite Christmas movie. Maybe because of it's uniqueness, but mostly because I get to renew my trust in children to engage with media that is dark, challenging, in many ways adult, as long as Kermit is also there.
