also season 1 has it's charms once you get over the worst parts. As obnoxious as early Wesley is, I find his little arc through the season gives a sense of progression even if its all a little too gee whiz. And Stewart gets plenty of good material from Wesley's storylines

I'm a big proponent of watching from the start! A lot of the best stuff that comes from later TNG and most of DS9 comes from writers further pushing against the Roddenberry/Berman guidelines and the idea of a utopian Federation, and that makes TNG season 1's depiction absolutely foundational

It's funny how asking these fucks to be considerate of their comrades is always painted as too divisive, but their complete inability to take criticism without turning into big whiny babies isn't
