I’m not sure I’ll ever really be able to resolve that but I am sure my children will never functionally be orphans while I’m still breathing.

I can lean on my husband + brother, aunt + cousin, and I really value + appreciate that but it’s just not the same. My father has never been in the picture. My mother has always been … her. I think I’ve processed a lot but in moments like this I still get overwhelmed w grief + anger.
