Please stop saying that a mistake on taxes means jail time
1. It's not true. You even mention the mistake needs to be "knowingly and willingly committed" in the next line.
2. It scares average people away from doing their own taxes.
3. It equates fraudsters with average people making a mistake

I've been doing this and didn't realize how much I missed walking into a store. Plus it's a good excuse to get the toddler out of the house.

YES! 100% do this. I have start[project name] to cd to the repo, open my notes.txt file and vs code.

Can you talk more about what you did and the challenges? For me it's being in the stage of life where job+family obligations is all I have time for.

I'm not sure. Self hosting/home lab/private virtual server tools are getting better and more accessable every year. If more kids spin up a Minecraft servers like millennials learned HTML for MySpace it could become a thing...

It's definitely a scam 😂

Say you knew the poster that created a widely spread meme accusing someone of SA (or other defamation per se) and was in Washington State (has anti slapp so I don't feel so icky asking about this)? Would it be straightforward? I ask because if feels like there is no consequences for posting BS...
February 27, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Sorry if this is a dumb question but is it ever worth going after individual posters? That seems like standard defamation though I assume the damages recovery would probably be small?

Stop assuming everyone wants those things. Trump spent 8 years arguing against them (DEI, Vaccine Mandates, kickbacks for politicians and DEI again). Show examples of them working and individual's stories of how they are being hurt by the programs going away

As someone writing code and managing other developers, that's the clearest status update I could ask for 😂

Oh no, is OpenAI upset someone else used what they created to train their model without asking? How sad for them 😂

Yeah, it's fun to see those elements everywhere and be in the know 😎 There are so many style props that you can customize with ...myButtonStyle or make your own button wrapper and call that. I don't have the best design sense so for me standard is a plus 😂

If an individual's quality of living is going down and you say everything is great then they're not going to believe you see them and their struggles.

I'm not saying that Trump gives a damn and will fix it but he does acknowledge it.

What do you think that area needs? What kept you there so long?
January 12, 2025 at 4:38 AM
1. Those hubs are in Michigan, Philly, Milwaukee and NY. Not Appalachia.

2. Also, even with the training, the companies aren't there.

Biden did a lot of good but it didn't reach there.

Obama/Biden promised retraining to high tec jobs but those never came. Without 401k or any money to invest, the only thing that matters is income vs costs and inflation happened.
January 12, 2025 at 4:16 AM
Both things can be true. The area is devastated by mining and manufacturing leaving and nothing has changed that trend in decades. But one party promises to stop the epa from making coal harder and bring back manufacturing (make it great like it was back then). If you ignore the messenger, I get it

React Native Paper and MUI are my current favorites. I don't really get shadcn but I use a theme.tsx file to hold all the custom colors/styles (sx on MUI) so it's easy to customize. That plus chatgpt makes the UI review go real fast!

"...via compliance testing by accredited labs."
This is how most compliance testing is done. See CE/UL/FCC

I think that's a really good point because cleaning up the hallucinations and adjusting the style forces me to get to know the code
