Elon musk is the richest man in the world, he could be funding hospitals, medical research and universities. He could be solving the climate crisis. He could be feeding, hungry children. Instead, he’s trying to make sure that your grandmother doesn’t get an extra dollar of Social Security.

The newly created vacancies in the DOJ and at the FBI will be quickly filed by people who will no longer simply look the other way but will be eager to help Musk accomplish his goals. The threat to those trying to resist these efforts or hold them accountable will grow over time.

Does Trump intend to replace fired federal workers with MAGA loyalists? Are there job interviews going on now—and what kinds of questions are asked?

In Defense of Snow Days
Inconvenient? Yep. Unpredictable? Sure. Disruptive? Yes. But a snow day is also a minor civic miracle, and we ought to treat it as such.

This doesn’t seem like it should be hard.
Dems can:

-oppose all Trump nominees until this EO is withdrawn
-deny unanimous consent to slow senate proceedings
-vote no on all cloture
-force quorum calls at every chance

It’s a constitutional crisis. There is absolutely no reason the Senate should be connecting business as usual.

The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good.

Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

Maybe Trump could swap certain states—N.Y. and California—for Greenland. Then we could become part of Denmark and get their free healthcare and other social welfare benefits.

The discourse around the pervasive tendency among our political, media, and business elites to accommodate Trump and signal compliance is, in my opinion, focused too much on the idea that they are “obeying because they’re cowards” - as opposed to the idea that many don’t think Trump is all that bad.
