"Fast & free"? Fast would mean less time riding to & from work, thus less work; free would be a step in the right direction, but given that commuting is an integral part of jobs, it should not just be free, but should be paid for! Wages for Commuting! Paid for by bosses.

The "wh*te nationalists" being referred to are the Nazis. School books play up their persecution of the Jews, but largely ignore the racism that motivated their claims to be a superior race with the right to remove inferiors.

Tracy, where have you seen this? I haven't & it's deplorable. I thought most "progressives" were as beyond such prejudice against the disabled as most seem to be vis a vis gays or trans. In Austin, there's been plenty of support for improving "access" for the disabled in all sorts of situations.

By itself, reductions in the number of jobs = less work for all a good thing. The bad thing in capitalism is how automation is used to increase work for some while denying others jobs & hence income. Imagine: pensioning off everyone displaced, OR spreading remaining work among everyone.

Since 2020, disabled people have been pointing out the rising ease with ableist rhetoric/language, the comfort with which so many people used the r word, the number of people willing to abandon disabled people for some notion of the "normal."
All of it mattered/matters to understand fascism today.

Evidence to support this demand was plentiful in the USSR, where the state controlled public media. Essentially, it cut itself off from information about things that weren't working and so couldn't fix them. Repression also forced covert withdrawal of imagination from the state & tech dev.
