Harry Jarin for Congress
@harrymd5.bsky.social
I'm Harry Jarin, a small business owner and volunteer firefighter in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. I'm running against 23-term incumbent Steny Hoyer in Maryland's 5th Congressional District. https://harryMD5.com
The biggest challenge for the Democratic Party right now is to nominate candidates who understand it, too. I'm ready to take up this fight, but I need your help: please consider supporting my campaign if you're able!

Restoring people’s faith in democracy requires having representatives they can see, question, and hold accountable. Movements like Indivisible show that the base is way ahead of the political class. People are ready for clarity, courage, and leaders who understand the urgency of this moment.

That disconnect is the disease at the heart of our political system. Reps stopped listening to their communities, couldn’t make tough decisions on basic issues, and left a leadership vacuum. And that vacuum is exactly what allowed Trump and a homegrown fascist movement to take root and grow.

Just look at Steny Hoyer – he’s spent decades in Congress, but many constituents feel disconnected from him. I believe representation means frequent town halls and real engagement, not just press releases. But our current reps seem more responsive to lobbyists and PACs than to actual constituents.

Demand accountability from your representatives and vote them out if they won't say it out loud 👇

Last week, 47 Democrats voted “present” on an impeachment resolution, including my 86-year-old Congressman, Steny Hoyer. This was the least courageous option possible – a way of showing up physically while opting out morally. This crisis won't end until Dems understand accountability isn't optional.

We can’t replace Steny Hoyer with another spineless, corporate-owned Democrat. To help send a firefighter to Congress, instead, support my campaign by sending a donation or signing up to volunteer.

So let me be clear: if I were in Congress, I would vote to impeach Donald Trump. I would also vote to impeach wannabe warlord Pete Hegseth, conspiracy theorist RFK Jr., and corrupt Kristi Noem for their abuses of power and other crimes. They all belong in prison, and I will help put them there.

We can all feel that something is deeply wrong, but this action just reads as cowardice – or worse, complicity.

Impeachment isn’t theater. It forces Republicans to defend the indefensible and draw a sharp contrast with Dems. It's also about Congress reclaiming its rightful Constitutional authority.

That is a catastrophic mistake, both substantively and politically. Voters don’t want their polling preferences reflected back at them. They want leadership! When Democrats refuse to clearly name Trump’s conduct as impeachable, we minimize the danger in front of us. It also demoralizes the base.

They padded their statement with vague lines about “affordability” because their consultants told them that was better politically. But when leaders say impeachment is a “distraction,” what they’re really saying is that enforcing the Constitution is optional when it’s inconvenient.
December 15, 2025 at 8:15 PM
A statement by Democratic leadership acknowledged that Trump’s behavior is out of control, and that impeachment is a constitutional mechanism designed for moments like this. And then, in the very next breath, they chose to do nothing!

I'm in complete agreement: job one for a new Democratic Congress is to put Trump (if still alive) and his henchmen behind bars. I don't know why this is controversial.

I was thrilled to join @citizensimpeachment.com as one of their Courage Candidates calling for the immediate impeachment and removal of Donald Trump.

Stay tuned for video of my remarks from yesterday's press conference in Washington, and be sure to check out these other great candidates.

We can’t be an opposition party afraid of its own shadow while democracy is on the line – both in Ukraine and here at home.

Please consider supporting my campaign to help renew Congress and the Democratic Party:

And by the way, I’m running against my 86-year-old Congressman, Steny Hoyer, in the Democratic primary. He’s been a supporter of Ukraine, and I agree with him there. But our older Democratic leaders still won’t talk about impeachment or the constitutional emergency we’re living through.

Congress could stop all of this tomorrow. They could pass crushing sanctions on Russia. And yes, they could impeach a president who is using the office to enrich himself while betraying our allies.
