I always feel so happy for those actors who have one scene on some TV show, playing a role that’s not hugely important to the plot, and somehow they make an impression and the next time you see them you go “oh, that was the funny bellhop from that other show”

I'm pretty sure Alice Coltrane should be more famous. And I'm pretty sure her album "Journey In Satchidananda" should get a lot more praise.

Holy moly! Cole is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever talked to.
Episode 2 of the 5AM StoryTalk Podcast is now widely available across podcast apps. I’m joined by screenwriter @harthanson.bsky.social, creator of “Bones”, to talk about art, his craft, and how not to break into Hollywood by pissing off an A-list showrunner (like he did).

whenever i read articles in the hollywood press about cutting costs in tv production i think “man, if only you had a vast workforce trained in making world class tv shows in eight days with two cameras, a reasonably nimble second unit, and a budget of under four million dollars an episode…”

I very VERY much enjoyed an English show called “Defending The Guilty” and I’m very sad that Covid seems to have interfered with a second season.
