I’m a chemistry professor & a hearing person learning ASL (so I can support D/hh students). I like cats and playing Destiny 2 an unreasonable amount. I only RT images with alt text. If I like your un-alt-texted art I may add a description in a reply (she)
Perfectly captured their personalities! 😻

Reader, she did the rest of her project prep herself, with a bit of advice/support from me, and without gAI. Absolutely a highlight of the semester for me. Also a good lesson that approaching with curiosity and grace can be very effective in helping someone see another way

Her: that makes sense, but I don’t know where I’d start
Me: one technique is to write everything in your head down in a stream — wait to edit until you’ve got it all out. I tell my students with their lab reports: the first draft doesn’t have to be good, it just need to exist
Her: I can try that!

Classmate: organizing my thoughts; I’m really bad at it
Me: is that something you want to be better at?
Her: yeah
Me: well, the secret to learning anything is to do it — if you want to get better at organizing your thoughts you need to organize your thoughts.

Altman: So in recap you are really going to pay me a billion dollars for my machine that stole all your shit and in return generates incredibly disturbing remixes at a huge loss to me with potential legal liability for all the suicides it also produces

Disney: Yep. Love that for me. Brother we ride

This is one of the many reasons I hate AI: It diminishes our emotional reactions to the REAL interesting/beautiful/horrifying/amusing things all around us. The real world is an amazing place and AI is the opposite of amazing.

I like stick shifts a lot, but they are the worst to try to drive in LA (learned that the hard way when we moved out here)
